My Personalization Nightmare
I regularly explore for creative or distinctive presents for Christmas. However, if anybody out there believes that buying personalized gifts is like purchasing commonplace presents, do think again. Think hard and think long. I recently purchased one of these, I won’t mention the site because I’m an embroidery digitizer. I make products that the personalized gift vendors sell and incredibly, those guys could be one of my customers! But this company that I found with a search, were quick to take my money , but customer satisfaction was not their strong point. It turned out that many people were complaining about this store, but since I did not check the reputation of the company, I didn’t find out until it was too late. I learned a tough lesson…my advice is don’t trust a company just because they have a website and ask friends. It’s only your friends who have no vested interest in the decisions you make. Anyways, I digress… The gift I purchased was personalized just for me and not only do you need to order this stuff in advance, some of these people (and I use that temr loosely) they really dig up a lot of rules for you to follow when there’s a defect. So, be very careful about…
1. Give them accurate spelling right from the start and 2. Order enough in advance so that an error can be corrected. And Oh!..one more.. 3. Learn about the customer service staff response BEFORE you order. Good luck!
